Hello to all my friends, family, and fans! This is my first EVER blog post! Yep, that’s right. I cannot believe I have been so reluctant to embark on this new endeavor. However, I believe I am really going to enjoy blogging since I love to write (my favorite and best subject growing up was English). Most of all, I am going to enjoy sharing MY PASSION – MY WORK – MY PHOTOS – with you.
I began my journey into the field of photography in the month of July, year 2010, when my 3rd son was merely a few weeks old. I figured what better time to invest in a camera and start learning! Prior to this, I had always loved taking pictures and had tossed the idea of getting into photography back and forth in my head. The main thing that held me back was money. A major brand, decent digital camera with interchangeable lenses is not cheap. But one day I thought, “What the heck?” and ran to the nearest Best Buy store and charged my first DSLR camera…a Canon Rebel t2i. It was a consumer grade camera and cost a whopping $899, and my husband and I both wondered if I was out of my mind. Not everyone has the knack or skill required for photography. Therefore who knew if I was cut out for it. TURNED OUT, I WAS! I definitely have the knack!! My skills continue to evolve on a weekly basis, and my creativity has really surprised myself (I never had much of a creative outlet). Hopefully this is just the beginning of my journey, as my ultimate desire is to turn this love, passion, and skill into a rewarding business!
I have since upgraded cameras (holy cow, who knew I would ever spend thousands of dollars on a camera and lenses?). I have also taken advantage of every opportunity to further my knowledge in the photography field. I’ve taken a college course, several classes, and most recently a workshop. My goal is to take more workshops/mentoring classes in the future. There is SOOO much to learn in this industry, and I find it so very exciting!
Currently I am not focusing on any one particular area of photography. I have been trying my hand at all…newborns, babies, children, families, seniors, and weddings! I think it is safe to say though, that I’m in love with the newborns. OH HOW I ADORE THEM! They are tiny precious miracles God has blessed us with, and I feel so special being able to capture these fresh new bundles of joy!
Lastly, if you are reading this, THANK YOU. I am glad to have you here, and I hope you will enjoy seeing my future blog posts. Also, I would like to say I truly appreciate the ones who have contributed to my journey and helped me along the way. Just a few people to name are Kim, Dena, Sarah, Carleen, Renee, and my biggest encourager Jennifer ♥ THANK YOU for your encouragement, patience, and confidence in me. Without you ladies and others, I would not be as far on this journey as I am today. And to my husband and my boys, THANK YOU. I have invested so much of my time into this business, and they have been extremely patient with me every step of the way.
God Bless,
♥ Sara ♥

Jennifer W. - Love it! It’s been amazing watching you embrace all of that talent you have! I think you have a knack for those tiny precious miracles, too! You know I will be following! 😉 Looks awesome, Sara! Love the B/A!
Renee - You are awesome at what you do! I love looking back at the pictures of Gracey and remembering how tiny she was. I can’t wait to do that with Vincent’s pictures! You for sure have the creativity knack! I know that I would not be able to come up with many of the ideas that you have. Keep up the great work and I can wait to continue reading your picture taking journey!
sara5769 - Thank you Renee! It’s crazy how much I have grown in the 2 years since I started. Practice makes perfect, and there is SO much to learn, but I am simply very grateful to be doing something I love! I am so glad I was able to photograph the last two newest additions to your family.
